Thunderbeast™ Line of Spirits
A symbol of westward exploration and strength, the mighty Buffalo, or thunderbeast, is one of the truly American Icons. We chose the Buffalo because, once on the verge of extinction, it is a reminder of our frailty and of our strength. It is a both a symbol of our passion for exploration and the problems associated with it. A reminder that, as we explore and grow, we need to keep in mind the responsibilities we have to our customers, our family, and our employees. A reminder that, as difficult as things can get, we have the strength to muster through and survive: just as the Buffalo has done.
Each bottle of our Thunderbeast™ Line is made from 100% locally grown Missouri corn and hand-crafted using a Ground to Glass philosophy. It is made entirely of sustainably grown corn grown at Shawnee Bend Farms, our family farm, using environmentally friendly methods. It is then hand-crafted in small batches into an ultra-premium distilled spirit for your pleasure. Every glass you drink comes entirely from ingredients grown, cleaned, processed, distilled, blended and bottled by our family. Every bottle of Thunderbeast™ is Gluten-Free, Farm Friendly and Environmentally Friendly, and most of all, sustainable. Enjoy.
Our Current Production Line:
Thunderbeast™ Storm Moonshine
Thunderbeast™ Storm, the base for our Thunderbeast Line, is a 100% corn whiskey made from corn grown, cultivated and malted on site at our family farm. We mash it in a traditional Appalachian method and allow the corn to first liquefy through cooking and then add malted corn to convert its starches to sugars. Once ready, it is allowed to ferment until it is strong enough to be considered a strong beer. After mashing, we slow distill it once to remove all the harsh flavors and chemical overtones and then re-distill it to purify the spirit. After distillation, it is not aged, but rather bottled without going into a barrel. Bottling, labeling, and packaging are all done by hand.
Considered a White Dog, moonshine, or un-aged whiskey, Thunderbeast™ Storm is a sweet and powerful whiskey that resembles the un-aged whiskey of the Scots-Irish in the hills of Appalachia. With notes of pear and banana with a sweet, corn base, TB Storm is very smooth, sweet, and leaves the pallet clean for a pleasant finish. Because it is smoother and lighter than most commercial whiskeys, it is bottled at 100 Proof instead of the more common 80 Proof, for a bigger kick.
